FAQ: Family & Couples

What should we wear?

I always recommend neutral, earthy tones and cozy textures — knits, linen, layers — anything that feels like you and allows you to move freely. Think soft tones that blend beautifully with nature.
Avoid bold patterns and logos, and coordinate without matching. I’m happy to help style your session or create a Pinterest board that fits your vision and works best with my brand.

Do you share photos of my children online?

Your family’s comfort and safety matter deeply to me. Before sharing anything on social media, I will always check in to make sure you feel at peace with your children’s faces being shown. If you’d prefer to keep that private, I honor that wholeheartedly.

When that’s the case, I’ll gently curate a selection of images from your session that still carries the heart of your family’s story—quiet, honest moments that feel like you—while keeping your little ones’ faces unseen.

This also gives you the freedom to share your photos in a way that aligns with your family’s values, without ever compromising your convictions. Please see photo provided for creative reference!

What if my kids don’t cooperate?

Honestly? I expect that! Little ones are naturally curious, wiggly, and full of wonder — and that’s the beauty of it. Your job is to love them just as they are, and I’ll capture that. Some of the best moments come when things don’t go “perfectly.”

Can we include sentimental items or storytelling elements?

Absolutely. Bring the little things that feel like home—your child’s favorite neutral-toned stuffed animal, a well-loved blanket, bubbles, paper airplanes, or creative props. These details add soul and texture to your story.

What if the weather isn’t ideal?

California weather can be unpredictable, but often the moody skies add magic. If safety or conditions become a concern, we’ll reschedule.

Do you help with posing?

I guide with gentle direction, but I’m never forcing moments. Think of it as being led rather than posed—the kind of direction that lets you fall into each other naturally.

What if my partner hates photos?

I get it — most do! But trust me, this won’t feel like a stiff, posed photoshoot. My sessions are relaxed, playful, and focused on connection. You’ll mostly just be hanging out with your person while I quietly capture the beauty of it all.

How long is a session?

Most sessions last about 45–60 minutes. Long enough to let the nerves fade and the real moments unfold, but not so long that anyone gets overwhelmed. I follow your rhythm and make space for natural connection.

Where do sessions take place?

Most sessions happen outdoors in gorgeous natural light near , around golden hour for that dreamy glow. I also offer in-home sessions for cozy, slow mornings (especially for families with littles or newborns). I’ll guide you through picking a location if you’re unsure! Locations Sacramento, CA and surrounding areas.

What is your turnaround time?

I pour intention into every gallery I deliver. My typical turnaround time for your full collection is 2–4 weeks, giving me the space to edit each image with care and artistry.

You’ll receive sneak peeks within 48 hours, so you can relive the warmth of your session while the memories are still fresh.
